FIELD: nuclear engineering; nuclear reactor safety systems. SUBSTANCE: cooling water dripping from walls of channel 1 enters in the form of film the gap between channel 1 and absorbing rod 3. Some portion of water flows from this gap to that between absorbing rod 3 and gas tube 11 through channels 18 provided in shapers 15 and form additional protective water column. Total hydraulic resistance of gaps and holes is selected proceeding from completely filled up gap between absorbing rod 3 and channel 1.
