FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: evaporator has a housing receiving stacked up evaporation steps, incorporated therein drop catchers and bundles of horizontal heat-exchange tubes with tube boards, interstep trays to collect and deliver evaporated solution onto lower-placed steps, and process nipples. Apparatus is distinguished with that every following evapoaration step is twisted relative to preceeding one rownd the vertical device axis to 90 deg, and one of the tube boards of each evaporation step is provided with a horisontal barrier placed in the middle of board and fixed to housing. EFFECT: reduced metal usage with mininized loss of useful temperature difference.
