PROCESS OF IMMOBILIZATION OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE FORMED BY PROCESSED ION- EXCHANGE RESINS Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract SU 1752115 A1

FIELD: nuclear technology. SUBSTANCE: process is meant for processing of radioactive waste for its immobilization in stable solid phase. Three-component thermoplastic composition involving petrolatum, copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate, low-pressure polyethylene with certain mass relation of ingredients is used as binder. Process of mixing of binder with radioactive waste is conducted at 75-80 C. Water absorption of produced compound is 3·105 g/cm2 g/cu.cm per day and differential rate of leaching is × 10-4 g/cm2 g/cu.cm per day. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of process. 1 tbl
