FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: material containing oxides of iron and manganese in ratio of (0.8-1.2):1 is fed in the amount of 18-20 kg/t, and reducing agent in form of siftings of aluminium-magnesium powder in the amount of 3.8-4.1 kg/t of treated steel is supplied in jet of neutral gas. EFFECT: higher quality of steel due to reduced content of sulfur and higher degree of manganese recovery in converter steel making. 1 tbl
