FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: unit has base 1 whereto base driving rollers 2 are secured. The axes of the rollers are inclined to the horizontal plane at an angle of 3°. Stop roller 4 is secured to the base in the plane of the bottom end faces of rollers 2. An inclination of rollers 3 allows stop roller 4 to be in a constant contact with the end face of band 5 to be machined. The unit has basing support 9 made up as two prisms interconnected via beam 11. Support 14 with cutting tool 15 moves in the guide mounted at the top side of beam 11. Basing support 9 is pressed to a surface to be machined by pressing mechanism 3. The pressing mechanism consists of four hydraulic cylinders 6 and 7 secured to base 1 and basing support 9 by way of spherical pivots 8. EFFECT: improved design. 3 dwg
