FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: reagent 1: isobutylene-containing fractions. Reagent 2: methanol. Catalyst: ionite formed catalyst. Conditions: process is carried out in reaction-fractionating apparatus made of three zones: upper and bottom fractionating zones and median reaction one. Median zone has a catalyst. Fiber glass is disposed between zone walls and catalyst. Fiber glass is impregnated with composition prepared on the basis of epoxy resin and containing, wt.-%: epoxy resin 67-77; dibutylphthalate 15-20, and polyethylene polyamine or hexamethylene diamine - the rest up to 100. At the inital period of reaction aqueous alkaline solution and/or spirituous alkaline solution is fed to the bottom fractionating zone on 1.5-2 theoretical plate counting from up of bottom fractionating zone.
