METHOD OF GENERATION OF PRESSURE PULSE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract SU 1807761 A1

FIELD: testing of structures. SUBSTANCE: explosive charge 2 and initiation source 3 are placed into tested blast chamber 1. Air gap between charge and walls of chamber is filled by gas mixture which is selected from condition of excess of its burning speed over burning speed of explosive. Gas mixture is initiated with the aid of initiation source and products of its reaction are used to initiate chemical reaction along side surface of explosive charge. Flat layer of plastic explosive is glued to one side surface on flat or cylindrical base 7 and is used as explosive charge. After registration of parameters of pressure pulse by transducers 5 and 6 burning products are discharged over pipe-line 9. Thickness of layer of explosive charge is chosen depending on length of required growth of pressure pulse. EFFECT: increased length of growth of pressure pulse while maintaining pressure amplitude due to simultaneous initiation of charge over its entire side surface; method is used for evaluation of strength of members of power installations. 1 dwg
