FIELD: metallurgy of nonferrous metals, particular, processes for production of sponge titanium by magnesium-reduced method; applicable in separation of titanium-containing reaction mass by heating block of reaction mass to 850-900 C, vacuum treatment in apparatus at the specified above temperature and high-temperature holding id reaction mass block. SUBSTANCE: vacuum treatment in apparatus at residual pressure of 0.4 mm Hg is carried out at the rate of apparatus evacuation of 0.65-0.95 l/s with subsequent evacuation down to residual pressure of 0.02 mm Hg. EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation process due to reduced time of high temperature holding. 1 tbl
