SUBSTANCE: resistance unit is made of stack of plates made of thin resistive foil; plates are electrically interconnected within stack by welding or soldering on side of current and potential contacts; remaining surface of each plate is covered on either side with thin layer of nonorganic insulation; resistor base is made of ceramic on one of whose ends resistor leads are welded or soldered; stack is held tight against base by means of ceramic cover; TCLE of resistive foil, base, and cover material is almost the same; resistance is adjusted by selecting quantity of plates connected in parallel in stack and selecting resistance of one upper plate.
