FIELD: semiconductor lasers, fiber-optical communication. SUBSTANCE: method involves sending semiconductor laser beam to at least one optical channel using beam splitters. Each channel has reflecting element, phase modulator and or element for reflected beam control, which is optically connected to semiconductor laser by means of beam input-output unit and optical attenuator. In addition semiconductor laser is connected to power supply unit; phase modulators and control elements are connected to control unit. Lengths of optical paths in channels are different. If device has two optical channels, ratio between lengths of their optical paths is in range of 1: 2-1:4. Ratio between lengths L of optical paths in i and i-1 channels conform to condition of , for i = 2, ..., N, where N is number of reflecting elements in optical channels. Linking weights of laser beam splitters conform to condition is given in the specification. Each channel provides independent selection and monitoring of amplitude and phase of reflected beam. EFFECT: decreased band width, increased range of frequency control during single-mode generation, possibility to transmit information using parallel spectral binary encoding. 4 cl, 7 dwg
