FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: pyrolysis of 1,1-difluoro-1-chloroethane is carried out in the presence of water vapor at 800-900 C at contact time 0.1-0.2 s. Water vapor is heated preliminary to 900-1100 C and mixed with 1,1-difluoro-1-chloroethane before feeding to pyrolysis zone and taken at molar ratio (1-2): 1. Conversion is about 100%, selectivity is 98.4%, yield is 98.3%. Synthesized product is used as monomer for polymeric materials producing. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, increased yield. 1 tbl
