FIELD: inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method of preparing of heat expanded graphite from dispersed iron-graphite-containing waste of metallurgic production involves oxidative treatment of waste with concentrated sulfuric acid and potassium bichromate following by separation of solid product from solution, its drying and heat treatment at 600-1000 C. In order to confer magnetic properties and retain high conductivity and low volume weight to the end product the waste indicated above is taken with iron content 10-60 wt.-%. Oxidative treatment is carried out for 2-10 min. EFFECT: improved method of heat expanded graphite preparing. 2 cl, 1 tbl
