FIELD: production of butyl rubber. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by copolymerization of isobutylene with isoprene at (-90)-(-50) C. Method takes place in the medium of hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of organoaluminium catalyst, volume ratio of comonomers and said solvent being 3:7-4:1. Mentioned above catalyst has common formula RnAlX3-n•H2Z where R is alkyl, X is halogen, n=1-2, Z is oxygen or sulfur. Said copolymerization takes place in the presence of chlororganic compound, its quantity being 0.5-25.0 vol % of reaction mixture. Said chlororganic compound is chosen of chloromethane, dichloromethane, chloroethane and 1,2-dichloroethane. EFFECT: improves physical and mechanical properties of desired product, improves efficiency of the method.
