FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of vertically placing an indicating tonometer on an eyelid of a patient, acting on the eye cornea through the eyelid by a ball, falling from height 120-150 mm and having mass 0.3-0.7 g; evaluating according to a mean value of 2-3 jump-backs of the ball a value of the intraeye pressure with use of a dial, divided by three parts, corresponding to pressure values, being lower than normal one, higher than normal one and in normal range. The indicating tonometer has a body in the form of parallel guides, such as hollow glass transparent tube inside of which the free movable ball is arranged. In the upper part of the body a sleeve is arranged, preventing the ball falling out off the body; on the tube a graduated scale is applied, the scale has three graduation lines, dividing it by three parts.
