FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves statically deforming eyelid in the region of cartilage using two support protrusions 7-10 mm equidistant from body free fall travel line. The intraocular pressure magnitude is evaluated from displacement function parameters in time. The device has casing having bushing performing limited reciprocal movements. The bushing has guiding and rest members for creating predefined permanent loading. Eyeball deformation member is a free fall body installed in bushing cavity allowing free fall of the body along the guiding members under proper weight influence to create impact loading. Check member for keeping the deformation member in initial superior position is mounted in the upper part of the bushing cavity. Inferior guiding member controls lower position of the deformation member in the bushing cavity in non-operating position.
