FIELD: medical engineering; diagnostics of glaucoma cases; conduct of mass-scale preventive examination of people to detect diseases of vision organs; checks to determine whether treatment of eye diseases is correct. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus represents conventional apparatus for measuring intraocular pressure, and comprises casing, sleeve with supporting portion, and element for applying deformation to eye through eyelid. This deformation applying element is made in form of rod having ferrite cell. Deformation applying element also comprises rod holder in its upper initial position, measuring converter made in form of generator, data processing unit connected with electromagnetic coil, core of which is constituted by ferrite cell of rod. Sleeve is housed by casing and is capable of performing therein limited reciprocating movement to provide constant predetermined load. Sleeve also comprises guideways adapted to direct movements of rod. Latter is capable of dropping by sliding along guideways under effect of its own gravity. Thus, rod constitutes element providing percussive load. Lower guideway forms limiter of lower position of rod in interior cavity of sleeve, when apparatus is in its idle position. EFFECT: 1) structural simplicity; 2) high accuracy and rapidity of intraocular pressure measurements; 3) possibility to automatically monitor intraocular pressure variations in course of treatment; 4) convenience in handling for both patient and operator, since it takes less time to make manipulations on patient's eye; 5) no anaesthesia is required. 6 cl, 3 dwg
