FIELD: rolling production. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for cutting strip material has knife shafts and support disks engaged with each other. Secured in beam by means of dovetail connection is insert made of caprolone (caproloctan) and supporting symmetrically rigidly mounted lower telescopic sleeves mating upper sleeves mounted adjustably in brackets. Placed between lower and upper sleeves are springs. Brackets adjustable with the use of screws and nuts are bolted to cutting head body at its inlet and outlet for movement in horizontal plane. Clamp is fixed relative to cutting head body with the aid of axles with bushings seated thereon in the course of assembly and secures rigidly to brackets at input and output of disk knives forming base for adjustment of clamp construction relative to body and of insert relative to lower knife. Finally insert is fixed relative to end face surface of upper knife by means of spacers, washers and nuts. Insert is longer then lower knife diameter by 15 to 20 mm, its width exceeds two and half of lower knife width by 10 to 15 mm and height of insert is by 5 to 10 mm less than difference between radii of lower knife and nut used for fixing upper knife. Diameter of support disk made of caprolone (caproloctan) exceeds diameter of lower knife by 1.2 to 1.5 mm. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
