FIELD: lifesaving appliances on water. SUBSTANCE: lifesaving appliance of ship which has rooms in her aft extremity open at sides and lifesaving appliance in each room consists of winch with electric drum on which flexible coupling 4 is wound. Coupling 4 is lighter than water and is coated with fluorescent paint. Coupling 4 has electric cables 5 inside it. Coupling is secured at the end with streamlined floating board 6 with handles 7, 8 and 9 which are also coated with fluorescent paint and with hermetically sealed contacts 10, 11 and 15 marked with fluorescent spots. At normal operation of the ship, contact in wheelhouse is closed and INCREASED SPEED signal is fed through the control line to control element of winch electric motor. Flexible coupling 4 is wound off the electric drum at this speed when shipboard engine is set at nominal power and electric motor knife switch is turned on in wheelhouse. When man falls overboard, he grasps flexible coupling 4 and having reached board 6, depresses one of spots, thus closing contact 10 or 11, after which audible or visible alarm operates in wheelhouse and power relay 18 operates in engine room. Relay 18 shifts the rack of the diesel engine fuel injection pump to zero delivery. As a result, ship slowly comes to stop, relay opens the contact, electric motor is changed over to reduced speed and with the aid of AHEAD contact 21 is switched on for heaving-in flexible coupling 4. The victim is pulled to the room and is taken on board the ship by means of storm ladder or special net. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 dwg
