FIELD: vibroacoustic diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: shaft-to-shaft bearings, being underloaded, are liable to slipping and faceting which reduces their service life. Flaw initiation and development can be assessed by amount of vibration of external housing of mechanism under check, as measured when one of rotors revolves at run-out. To this end, mean amplitudes of vibration signals coming from external housing of mechanism under check are measured as time between failures increase up to moment of recording of flaking, and average amplitudes of vibration signals as function of mean time between failures are obtained; then measurements are made with a number of similar mechanisms, and diagnostic model is obtained. This diagnostic model can be used to determine residual life expectancy of bearing under check from the moment of re-distribution of clearance in shaft-to-shaft bearing as result of running-in, when initial fault (faceting) originated as a result of unfavorable combination of tolerances has stabilized in its development. Method proposed can be used in mounting device checking and recording measured vibrations on board aircrafts. EFFECT: enlarged capabilities. 2 cl, 1 dwg
