FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: as soon as exhaust of waste gases through band of exhaust ports near movable head displacing away from working piston travel is started, band of inlet ports is the last to open to admit scavenging charge compressed in annular scavenging space and uniflow scavenging of working chamber is performed. Additional charge compressed in scavenging chamber is delivered towards scavenging charge along cylinder axis through transfer duct made in head. In this way, uniflow-spout scavenging is carried out. EFFECT: improved efficiency of cylinder interior cleaning from waste gases; improved reliability of engine due to reduced heat intensity of working piston and uniform distribution of thermal stresses along cylinder and over its circumference. 7 cl, 2 dwg
