FIELD: gas generator design. SUBSTANCE: gas generator has case 1 with outlet hole 4. Arranged in tandem within case are igniter 3, gas-penetrable solid-fuel charge 5, cooler unit 6 and supporting rack 8 contacting the latter. Side surface of charge 5 and that of cooler 6 bear plastic armoring coat 7. Supporting rack 8 has cylindrical flange joined with case 1 near outlet 4. Side surface of charge 5 and that of cooler 6 with armoring coat 7, and cylindrical flange of supporting rack 8 are tightly embraced by flexible shell 9 whose outer diameter is smaller than inner diameter of case 1. Common armoring coat 7 for charge 5 and cooler 6 provides for uniform gas blowing through cooler 6; supporting rack 8 provided with flange, its arrangement, and provision of common shell 9 tightly embracing all the three parts prevent hot gas escape to outlet hole 4 bypassing cooler 6. EFFECT: improved design. 1 dwg
