FIELD: chemical technology, organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: products - isobutylbenzene, empirical formula is C10H14, 4-methylpentene-1, empirical formula is C6H12. Reagent 1: toluene. Reagent 2: propylene. Catalyst: sodium on potash. Conditions: at 140-170 C, 9-10 MPa. Process involves toluene drying, and after drying toluene is divided for two flows: 50-70% dried toluene is fed for interaction with propylene. The remainder part of toluene is passed over catalyst (at 50-100 C and at volume rate of feeding 0.5-1 0,5-1 h-1) after carrying out of the stage of interaction following by its distillation and recycle on the stage of toluene drying.
