FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: product: biphenylcarbonitrile of the general formula (I) where L1, L2 - hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, trifluoromethyl-, cyano-, nitro-group. Reagent 1: compound of the general formula (II) where X1 - bromine, iodine or trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy-group; L2 means indicated groups. Reagent 2: compound of the general formula (III) in which L1 - as indicated meaning; Q1 and Q2 - hydroxy-group or Q1 and Q2 together with boron atom form boroxine ring, or their mixture. Synthesis is carried out in the presence of palladium (O) or 3 (II) catalyst in solvent medium. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
