CELLULAR BODY, IN PARTICULAR, CATALYST CARRIER Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2027507 C1

FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: cellular body is composed of partially textured sheets, which define walls of fluid channels. A part of sheets 1 has main wavy portions with wave ridges 2 and slots 3 between them and predetermined wave height H. Wave ridges 2 and/or slots 3 between waves are provided with specific members 4,5 with height h, h less or equal to wave height H, with h, h value being preferably within the range of 1/3-2/3 of wave height. Specific members 4,5 define additional channels 6 for washing fluid within cellular body, which immensely increase activity, with usage of materials being the same, by reduced effect of boundary layers of fluid. Moreover, areas of surfaces contacting with adjacent sheet layers are reduced. EFFECT: optimized usage of material for catalytic active surfaces. 16 cl, 4 dwg
