FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: shipboard wave propeller is provided with vanes secured on rudder stock linked with drive shaft through mechanism forming an angle of attack. Rudder stock is mounted for rotation in hollow shaft and for transverse motion together with vanes by means of drive. At smooth sea, shaft is rotated by means of shipboard engine. Vanes are deflected to opposite sides and operate like propeller. In case of swell, vanes are used both for increasing the speed during operation of the engine and for creating the thrust by the ship's motions with the clutch disengaged. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 5 dwg
