FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: at least one blade of ship's propellers whose vector of linear velocity is straight or directed at angle towards incoming flow arising due to orbital motion of water in swell is moved away from axis of rotation; rotational speed of blades is adjusted to be equal to rotational speed of orbital motion of water in swell at phase shift of 180 deg in the same direction. Other version of method consists in continuous change of distance of blades from axis of rotation; propeller blades are rotated at speed which exceeds speed of orbital motion of water in swell; blades moving straight or at angle towards flow of water are moved away from axis of rotation and blades which move straight or ar angle in direction of water flow are drawn together to axis of their rotation. EFFECT: sawing of fuel due to use of energy of sea waves through obtaining additional thrust; possibility of adjusting the thrust. 4 cl, 1 dwg
