FIELD: physics, photo equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of photochemical and photophysical technologies and may become commonly used in the quantum electronics, during photoionisation excitation of laser and plasmachemical media; in microelectronics, during integrated circuit production; in medicine and ecology, during development of bactericide units, as well as during development of various purpose photochemical reactors. The pulse-periodical wide-aperture source of ultraviolet radiation based on a plasma microstring matrix contains a multigap electrode structure designed as rings installed with a certain pitch, with set slotted gaps, and located on ignitor electrodes covered with dielectric film; the electrodes are designed as metallic rods connected in parallel with one another; the ring electrodes on different rods are located opposite to each other and connected into an electric circuit connected to a capacitive energy storage. The width of each ring electrode, the thickness and the dielectric constant of the dielectric film covering the rod electrode are selected so that the electrical capacitance between the ring and ignitor electrodes is more than the capacitance of the slotted discharge gap.
EFFECT: increase in efficiency of increased energy photon generation.
