FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: ferrosilicon and iron are introduced into pellet consisting of manganese, silicon, calcium, magnesium, aluminium oxides and iron oxides. The relation between manganese and ferrosilicon is within 2.3 to 2.6. The above components are taken in the following relation, percent by mass: silicon oxide - 5 to 7; calcium oxide - 1 to 3; magnesium oxide - 0.5 to 0.7; aluminium oxide - 6 to 8; iron oxides - 17 to 19; metallic iron - 4 to 6.5; ferrosilicon - 14 to 17; manganese oxide - the rest. The method of production of pellets for direct alloying of steel by manganese of the claimed composition includes grinding of the blend components, forming around the nucleus of the concentrate shell, introduction of carbon-bearing material, subsequent thermal treatment. A two-layer nucleus is formed from ferrosilicon, its internal layer consists of a 1 to 3-mm fraction, and its external layer - from a 0.001 to 0.005-mm fraction, and carbon-bearing material is introduced in the process of shell forming into a manganese-iron concentrate, in which the relation between manganese and iron is within 1.5 to 2.5.
