FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the heat treated manganese-containing material is fed as the product recovered from a manganese-containing ore and having a melting point of 1.150-1300°C with a Mn/Fe ratio of 0.8-2.5 till the ladle is filled with metal to 1/8-1/10 of its height, and a reducing agent is added during metal tapping and the feed is discontinued till the ladle is filled to 1/2 of its height.
