FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: in the process of continuous casting metal is fed into a gap between driving drum, side rims and belt. Slab is formed in a gap in radial direction. Reduced slab in solid-liquid state is deformed by means of drum replacement. Slab is drawn with a varying speed. Broad and narrow sides of a slab are cooled. Heat removal intensity from narrow sides is 0,4-0,8 of broad sides intensity. Device has a drum with rotation drive, endless belt, drum working walls with cross channels, injector positioned under the belt and spaces placed inside rim body. Drum is installed between side rims. Side rims have their own rotation drives. Endless belt rounds rim sides and drive rolls. Vertical membrane separates inner rims spaces. From front and back drum sides the spaces are filled with low-melting material. Its layer thickness is 0,2-0,8 of space value between drum surface and belt in a drum diameter horizontal plane.
