FIELD: photochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: metal-halogen lamp for photochemical processes has burner with tightly installed electrodes filled with iron, lead and iodine. Xenon under pressure 10-200 kPa is additionally injected into burner as well as magnesium and tin with following molar concentrations in space of burner, mcmol/cm3/cu. cm: iron 0.3- 7.0; lead 0.006-6.0; magnesium 0.006-4.0; tin 0.2-7.5. Ratio of molar concentration of atomic iodine to sum of molar concentrations of specified metals amounts to 1.0-2.0. Xenon is used ingredient of filling of burner instead of toxic mercury. EFFECT: enhanced safety and reliability of lamp. 1 tbl
