FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to selective extraction of lithium from lithium-containing solutions. Disclosed is a sorbent for extracting lithium from lithium-containing solutions based on a chlorine-containing form of double hydroxide of aluminium and lithium, which has a paramagnetic property. Also disclosed is the use of said sorbent as a sorbent for extracting lithium from lithium-containing solutions and a method of producing the sorbent.
EFFECT: achieving a set of sorbent performance indicators, which are maintained at a high level during resource operation, in particular, the strength of the sorbent, the dynamic capacity of the sorbent, the average concentration of lithium in the eluate, the efficiency of washing the sorbent from impurities and lithium purity of the eluate.
