FIELD: wood processing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves repeated alternation of blowing cycles with heat carrier, discharging liberated fumes and vacuumization wherein wood is first heated to average-volume temperature of 80-100 C then dried by repeated alternation of vacuumization and blowing with heat carrier. Before reaching the 30% moisture content after vacuumization cycle the wood is held in a sealed drying chamber until pressure therein approaches the atmospheric level. Vacuumization is carried out at residual pressure of 10-50 mm Hg for 30-120 min. Pressure is released to the residual value in 1-30 s, and condensate is drained in the course of vacuumization. Blowing is performed with heat carrier at 80-150 C within the time equal to vacuumization cycle. The drying process to 30% moisture content is repeated to the total vacuumization time submitted in the claims. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
