FIELD: production of porous carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: 30-60 mass % of disperse carbon, 2-10 mass % of carbon-containing binder and solvent are mixed all together. Then extrusion at pressure 20-60 kg/sg.sm is carried out. Thus prepared articles are dried and affected by heat treatment. The latter process is carried out at 500-1200 C in non-oxidizing medium in the presence of gaseous carbon. Said process takes place till weight of article increases by 20-200 mass %, it is followed by activation. Initially mentioned above heat treatment is carried out in the presence of gaseous hydrocarbon having ratio of hydrogen and carbon 0.25-0.5, said process takes place till weight of article increases by 10-100 mass %. Carbon article contains porous carbon material having interplanar distance 3,35 - 3,50 Å, volume of its pore being 0.2-2.0 cub.sm/g.
