FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, production of ferroalloys, in particular, production of ferrosilicon. SUBSTANCE: novelty of the invention consists in that the charge for production of ferrosilicon additionally contains mixture of fluxed iron ore pellets and iron scale in ratio of 1:(1-3) with the following percentage of components, wt.-%: quartzite, 35-55; carbon reducing agent, 20-30; mixture of fluxed iron ore pellets and iron scale, 10-30; steel chips, the balance. Use of mixture of pellets and scale in charge composition in production of ferrosilicon results in reduction of silicon flying away together with effluent gases. In addition, it has been noted that the depth of immersion of electrodes in charge increases that makes it possible to conduct the heat at higher voltage from the transformer lower side and without use of expensive semicoke. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
