FIELD: study of materials, space technology. SUBSTANCE: proposed equipment makes it possible to improve quality of produced material thanks to performance of smelting by various methods as well as to special design of heater enabling highest temperature gradient to be obtained and practically all parasitic heat to be released from smelting ampule. Equaipment is manufactured in the form of set of heating sections 5 and is provided with case 4 which side walls have holes 12 and 13 connected to cooling system. Each section is composed of heating element with screens placed external to it. Sections are arranged in staggered order and are insulated from each other by packages of screens 7 connected to side walls of heater. Heating element is fabricated from composite carbon-carbon material. EFFECT: improved quality of produced material. 2 cl, 5 dwg
