FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; refining of ferrosilicon with aluminum content of not in excess of 1/2%. SUBSTANCE: in the course of holding ferrosilicon in slag with basicity of 0.5-1.5, oxidizing potential is set up enough for oxidizing aluminum impurities whose value is proportional to the amount of oxygen stoichiometrically required for additional oxidizing of aluminum up to desired concentration with coefficient of 1.0-2.0. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
