FIELD: refrigerating engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has pump and pipeline lower portion is lowered in deep cold layers of sea water and upper portion is located above water surface and is connected with heat exchanger which is provided with drain branch pipe for sea water passed through heat exchanger. Pipeline is made in the form of free flow-through member which is open in its lower and upper portions and performs the function of communicating vessel relative to surrounding water. Pump is mounted between upper portion of pipeline filled with water and heat exchanger. Pipeline is in communication with surrounding air above level of water. Inlet branch pipe, flow-through members and outlet branch pipe of heat exchanger from bellows all together. Device may be provided with intermediate reservoir mounted between pipeline and pump. Upper portion of reservoir is brought in communication with surrounding air and lower portion is in communication with upper portion of pipeline filled with water.
