FIELD: power-plant engineering; mechanical energy generation by using temperature difference and density of sea water at its different levels. SUBSTANCE: power plant has pipeline 1 with open top part placed above water surface and bottom part immersed into deep layers of sea water with low temperature T1. Pipeline communicates at warm surface layer having temperature T2 through hole 2 with tank 3 isolated in surface layer of water and made free to communicate with atmosphere. Cold water stream emerging from deep layers due to discharge of denser cold water with temperature T1 to not so dense warm water with temperature T2 in surface layer is formed in flow system of pipeline 1, hydraulic motor 6, tank 3, and pipe connection 5. Water lift takes place like in communicating vessels due to hydrostatic forces without requiring additional energy. EFFECT: provision for generating mechanical energy without consuming fuel resources. 4 cl, 2 dwg
