FIELD: electric engineering, in particular, protection devices for supply lines, industrial and home electronic equipment against atmospheric and short-time switching overload. SUBSTANCE: device has column of resistors which have high non-linearity and are located in dielectric rib housing with metal pieces which are located at its ends and are connected to said resistors. Gap between resistor column and housing is filled with polymer composition. Novel feature of device design is joint of resistor column by means of at least two rods which are made from dielectric material and are located in symmetry about axis of resistor column. Ends of rods are mounted in metal pieces. Said gap is not less than 4 mm. Devitrified glass and powder of material of zinc oxide resistor are used as polymer filler, their amount is 100-500 weight parts per 100 weight parts of elastic composition. In addition housing is designed as integral unit which is made from silicon-organic rubber which is proof against tracking and atmosphere. EFFECT: increased reliability. 2 cl, 1 dwg
