FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, particular, oxygen-converter process. SUBSTANCE: method of steel melting in oxygen steel-making converters includes charging of solid charge, pouring of liquid cast iron, subsequent blowing of the bath with oxygen, introduction of slag-forming and solid oxidizers. Solid charge is used in form of semifinished product for metallurgical processing consisting of iron-carbon alloy and oxide material, and scrap metal in ratio of (0.1-3.0): 1.0. Semifinished product is loaded in the amount of 25-300 kg per ton of liquid cast iron. Semifinished product for metallurgical processing contains oxide material poured-on with iron-carbon alloys in ratio of 1:(1.0-9.9), respectively. Total quantity of oxygen in oxide material equalling the required quantity for full oxidation of components of iron-carbon melt. EFFECT: reduced quantity of nonferrous metals by 10-50% and consumption of scrap metal by 10-40%. 2 cl
