FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: when tapping steel from the furnace, final slag and a part of liquid metal is left in the furnace, and metal-charge, slag-forming materials are loaded on the left liquid metal and slag, oxygen is blown and iron-rich pellets are melted. So, formation of receiving bath is effected by supply of charge consisting of mixture of agglomerate and iron-ore pellets, poured-on with cast iron in mass ratio of (0.15-0.45): (0.45-0.15): (1.8-3.0), respectively, with total quantity of oxygen required for full oxidation of cast iron (silicon, manganese, phosphorous) and 20-25% of the total quantity of carbon contained in melt and charge. The latter is introduced to obtain in initial charge the total concentration of carbon within 1.1-2.0%. EFFECT: speeded up heating of receiving bath, reduced duration of melting and maintained slag in foamed state. 1 tbl
