EXHAUST GAS CATALYTIC CONVERTER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: catalytic converter has housing with heat insulation, reaction chamber with porous ceramet members dividing the chamber into three parts. Mounted in lower part of housing is intake branch pipe with flange and cross hollow flow distributing pipe with seats at both sides of outputs. Movable rod with minimum two rigidly secured valves at both sides of pipe is placed inside flow distributing pipe. Pipe accommodates also a drive. One output of distributing pipe is brought out under lower space, and other output, under intermediate space. EFFECT: improved quality of cleaning. 1 dwg
