PROCESS FOR PREPARING GRANULAR CIS-1,4-POLYISOPRENE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of granular cis-1,4-polyisoprene. SUBSTANCE: cis-1,4-polyisoprene is reacted with maleic anhydride in screw assembly at 100-300 C; modified cis- 1,4-polyisoprene is mechanically mixed with antiagglomerator and at least one additive selected from the group consisting of polyolefin, carboxylic acid amide, C₁₀-C₂₅ carboxylic acid, ε-caprolactam. Elastic product which is side product for preparation of regenerated caprolactam and which is essentially mixture of low molecular cyclic and linear polyamides, products of thermooxidative destruction thereof and reaction with basic type agents at weight ratios of modified cis-1,4- polyisoprene to antiagglomerator of 100: 0.1-9.5 and antiagglomerator to additive of 1: (0.1-100). The resulting mixture is forced through dies, granules of 1- 20 mm are cut up and the surface of granules is treated with dry antiagglomerator or aqueous suspension thereof.
