FIELD: applicable in apparatuses for treatment with liquids of capillary-porous particles, for instance, impregnation, washing, extraction and leaching in chemical, chemical-pharmaceutic, food, wood-chemical, hydrometallurgical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has one or more similar bodies connected with one another in their lower parts, pressure variation stimulation device, process branch pipes. Each body accommodates symmetrically arranged similar chambers containing treated suspension with bottoms permeable for liquid. Chambers are plugged from atop, and at least, one of them is connected with pressure variation stimulation device. The latter is of double-action type. Chambers are made for their changing over so that when one group of chambers is operated, some other are engaged in loading-unloading operations. The method of treatment consists in building up in apparatus bodies of asymmetric pressure variation whose amplitude of variable component is taken equal or close to the value of steady component and frequency of pressure variation being equal or close to the frequency of natural variation of suspension in apparatus. EFFECT: higher efficiency of device, increased depth of penetration and degree of recovery of target substances and reduced specific power consumption. 4 cl, 4 dwg
