FIELD: equipment for treatment of solid particles with liquids; applicable in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, wood chemical and hydrometallurgical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: pulsating apparatus has body with bottom covered from atop with cover and accommodating container for solid particles with permeable bottom, pressure fluctuation exciter and process branch pipes. Upper part of container side wall is impermeable and lower part is permeable. Pressure fluctuation exciter is connected to upper part of circular cavity formed by container side wall and apparatus body. Container shape followes with clearance the shape of body internal body with bottom. Apparatus cover is connected with circular cavity by means of one or several overflow channels. Method of operation of offered pulsating apparatus consists in establishing of such hydraulic resistance of overflow channels that duration of process of alignment of liquid levels in space above particles and in circular cavity amounts up to 80-95% of duration of stage of pressure drop. EFFECT: reduced liquid parasitic volume, higher volume concentration of particles comparatively with total volume of medium in apparatus, higher efficiency and reliability of pulsating apparatus due to its design and method of its operation. 5 cl, 4 dwg
