FIELD: nuclear energy engineering. SUBSTANCE: control rod has cladding filled by neutron absorber column which one part is made from material having alpha-particle radiation reaction particularly it is boron carbide, but other part of absorber which moves forward into active zone of reactor includes material producing gamma radiation reaction. Such property is inherent in dysprosium compounds, particularly dysplosium monotitanat, dysplosium dititanat or displosium hafnat are using.
