FIELD: nuclear engineering, in particular, devices of system for control and protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in adjusting organs, made in form of single rods with varying cross-section or in form of assemblies, containing a set of adjusting rods or a set of fuel and adjusting rods, meant for compensation of excessive reactivity. Adjusting rod contains material, absorbing neutrons, including boron and positioned in the cover between tip and head. Cover is made of zirconium alloy, including hafnium in amount of 3 - 35 percents of mass.
EFFECT: increased physical efficiency of adjusting rod, decreased gas separation and decreased manufacturing costs.
