FIELD: nuclear energy engineering. SUBSTANCE: control rod has cladding filled by neutron absorber column which one part is made from material having alpha-particle radiation reaction it is boron carbide particularly. Second part of neutron absorption column which moves forward into active zone includes hafnium. This part is made like rigid construction particularly as rod made from metallic hafnium and it length is from 5 to 30 % of full absorption column length. In result full rod construction deformations are diminishing but construction properties provided by absorbing materials combining are keeping.
