SUBSTANCE: device has acceleration pipe 1 with holes 15, capsule 10 filled with crushed titanium sponge 21, baffle plate 6 with shock absorber 11, forechamber 2 with outlet opening. Total cross-sectional area of circular clearance 16 and holes in pipe 1 is larger than inner cross-sectional area of acceleration pipe 1. Capsule 10 is made hermetic and is of variable cross-section in height which is increasing towards baffle plate 6. Device can be provided with one or several acceleration pipe 1 installed for possible turning relative to baffle plate 6. Capsule 10 can be made quick-detachable and provided with valves. It can have circular protrusion 19. Method of crushing by using given device is as follows. Capsule 10 filled with crushed titanium sponge 21 to 1/10 - 1/3 of its height is accelerated by respective energy carrier. Capsule 10 being vacuumized or filled with inert gas strikes baffle plate 6 with shock absorber 7. Particles of titanium sponge 21 continue free flight by inertia inside capsule 10, strike capsule bottom and are destroyed. Period of deceleration of capsule 10 as it strikes baffle plate 6 with shock absorber 7 is shorter than period of material flight through free space in capsule 10.
